How does a new member register?

So I feel pretty awkward that I don't know this including being a mod and all... but I literally looked all over the place...

I see Login and forgot password, but no register?

How does a new member register??

I shot Barry a text he notified Jeff. Jeff has been making a few changes but he didn't know anything about the registry.

Well, I don't know where it is, but judging for the latest increase in spammer activity, I'd fairly sure it's there, and I'd suggest it's time for a major security upgrade...

How does this thread have 6000+ views? Its only from a month ago. Perhaps its still an issue and prospective members are searching for it?

thats likely the little bots that search engines use to find information and display it back to the person seraching. So say someone searched on "new member registration" well the little bot goes out and finds any and all topics that relate to the search, it counts as a view. Its either that, or spam bots going nuts...

It looks like the registration option is gone again? Is this to keep all the spambots from taking over the site?

I have been enableing the registration feature upon request. If somneone needs to register, please have them contact me, and I will enable it temporarily so they can get on.

This is until I am able to successfully find the time to kep the spammers out. No time lately.

DAMNIT!!!!

Good catch. I opened up registration yesterday to let someone in, and apparently in my wisdom forgot to disable it once they were successfully registered.

It is disabled again, and I will remove the spammers since yesterday.

I will dedicate some time to fixing this properly over the holidays when I am off work.
