1.8 K8 to 2.5 KLDE ???

Ok tax time I think I'm going to pull my 1.8 out and put in a 2.5. I have read alot about the about. But the one thing I couldn't seem to find is this. Will I need to change my tranny or is there anything that needs to be upgrade. I just had my tranny rebuild about 2 yrs ago. So it pretty sound and working great. So is my K8 but its getting close to 200k on it. So its about time to retire it before it lets me down. Thanks for any help to can give on the subject.

Rebuilt? I hope you're not talking about an automatic?

no its a 5 speed and it was rebuild 2 yrs ago. Its only has about 3 or 4 k on it,

Pretend the 2.5 is a k8 engine and swap it in.

Manifold you may need a millenia curved neck(DE VERSION) , the k8 one will work just fine.

It works, but not "just fine". Saying that means that there's no downfall to using it. It bolts in and installs like OEM, but it restricts airflow, so limits power.
