custom strut braces and body braces, help?

Post by mx3_4_me »

ok im building a strictly preformance mx3 and i am going to be building strut braces and body braces to strengthen stuff up a bit. should i weld them up completely, or should i have just the mounts welded in and the bars bolted? any help with this would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I'm personally not a fan of having things fully welded onto the car. True, bolts mean extra weight, and, if you're building an all out racer, every gram counts, but having a few well placed bolts can eventually mean the difference between coming back to the track in a few minutes (after an accident, for example), or having to abandon the race.
