I dropped a KF-ZE in my 96 this summer, runs great, but it's automatic.. I need a Manual
Tranny. I'm looking to buy one this winter, Probably a KL, KF, or a KL-ZE Tranny. Question
Now is, which would be best? Second question is, Do i need a different harness, or can i use
Auto one ( pretty sure i need a manual one ).
Anywho, if you guess Have any tips to share as for parts I need, Let me know
Cheers
Chris

Re: KF-ZE Auto to Manual tranny swap
I'd use a K8, Probe or KF tranny as they all have higher ratios than the MX-6, which means their gears are closer together. Better suited for something with less torque IMO.
Different harness not needed, just unplug the auto ECU (it's separate from the normal ECU).
