Post by Kdm22 »

my brake lghts keep going out ive changed multiple switches cse i thought i may hav gotten a batch of defective ones but after trying them fom multiple different stores and locations i thought it has to be somethin in the car, its al stock no after market sub or speakers and the stereo was in the car when i got it and hve had the car for a year no problems till now. iv tried tracing the wires i cannot find a break nor ground out. any ideas? im also trying to sell the car and have posed that on here as well but until i sell it id like to hve brake lights to insure the car doesnt get hit. thanks

Not sure what the real problem is.
When you say your lights are "going out", what do you mean?

Are the bulbs burning out?
Are the lights eventually failing to light up? Or they just don't work at all?
Is the third brake light working?

I think he means he's blowing fuses.

Check all the wiring to external light housings. They're exposed to the elements, and corroded bulb sockets/terminals can cause shorts in the system...
