Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
Been driving a 96 MX-3 (1.8 V6 DOHC) and its running great.
Ever Since i can remember, the check engine light has been blinking.
Its not like there is a code showing.. it just keeps on blinking... over and over and over and over... lol
When Idling, When Driving...
Could it be the Aftermarket Gas Cap?
Any Ideas?
Thanks

no to gas cap. have you checked codes before? http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=34787" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Re: Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
Ive checked thru the codes.. but none fit my situation... it keeps on blinking.. no code... just blinks steadily and never stops.
Also, I have a gas cap... its not the original but fits just fine.. clicks n all..

Re: Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
I had a flashing CEL after i did my swap and it was because i had like 6 or more codes, it seems if you have too many codes, it flashes so you pay attention. After i cleared the codes, the flashing stopped even with 5 codes or less.

Re: Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
Constant flashing light means you have a serious emissions problem.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: Check Engine Light NEVER Stops Flashing.
VAF = Vane Airflow Sensor
I didnt know it was on the K8... I thought it was on the probe n ze engines.
Where is that located?

If your CEL is on or flashing, the ecu is trying to tell you that something is wrong. Go ahead and ignore it but you can do some major damage doing so...spidlemx3 wrote:Hello, i have the same problem with my 1993 Mazda Mx3 V6, an my car runs like a top nothing wrong with it at all an the check engine light ALWAYS comes on an off constantly. i wouldnt worry about it to much, i worried about mine, but it was like that for almost a year.
If it's flashing, chances are, there are several codes that the ecu has stored. Jump TEN and GRND and pull the codes. If it's egr related, itll throw egr codes.
Ignoring it wouldn't have been the first on my list to suggest in terms of fixing the problem.
