RS with a sunroof?

Post by Inodoro Pereyra »

So... I was looking on craigslist (everywhere), for an MX-3 (ever since I sold my MX-6, I'm getting very restless...), and came up with an old ad which showed pictures of a car that, supposedly, had a B6 engine, but you could clearly see the car has a sunroof.
I was under the impression that only GS's had a sunroof. :confused2:

Is it some kind of special edition, or just modified by the owner?

My RS also came with a sunroof, modded by previous owner and glad they did.

RS'es didn't come with sunroofs stock. It would have to be aftermarket.

Depends on the market I'd imagine, my RS has a standard sunroof, though it's an Irish market car & came with the full GS bodykit as standard. The UK sold RS' had sunroof's as standard too seemingly.

Thanks everybody. :D

So that RS was probably brought from another country...
I saw it here in the US, but I don't remember the city. So we can say the "North American spec" RS comes with no sunroof, but others may have it.
Do they have GS's in the places where the RS comes with the sunroof?

Thank you DeepBlue.
I didn't remember ever seeing a GS in Buenos Aires, but I've just been doing some research, and found several, as well as many RS's with sunroof. Looks like the "non sunroof" version is only in North America... :?

Anyway, I found a page with several MW-3s for sale in Argentina. It's in Spanish, but still (IMO) worth going through. Just look at the prices... (1 US dollar= about 3 pesos).

Wow..! That's more than $20 K!

Even for a car with 8000 Km, that's a lot of money..

Yep, I agree. But you'd have to be really MX-3 crazy to spend that kind of cash.
The car looks great, but you can get an MX-3 like new (replace bushings, ball ends, suspension, brakes etc) and drop in a fully blueprinted DE for less than half that money, even in Argentina (and I'm guessing in Brazil too), so spending that much money on a 15 year old car doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm sure you can get a sunroof on an RS if you wanted, you would just have to pay for it. My GS didn't have one, so why not the other way around?

ugh im not happy that the rs did come with sunroof.... I snagged a glass sun roof because I thought it would fit on my gs. and its smaller... This was not aftermarket tho because the headliner fit with it and the car frame looked like the stock one, no welds or anything. unless someone did a really good job at it ... anywho.. 45 dllrs down the drain lol It was manual too not auto like the gs.
