FYI...

I found this site which sells the vinyl material the OP used. Now he said he got 25 yards (900") @ 48" wide. This place sells a 58" wide roll 240" long for $499. If he used most of his 25 yards, you would need at least 3 rolls at 240"x58"...the MX-3 is small...maybe only 2.

Unless you can find a way better deal than this you're looking at around $1000 I figure to do this.
ebay is your friend http://cgi.ebay.ca/2-48-x-36ft-Vinyl-Ro ... 793wt_1137" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2 rolls of 48" x 36ft Vinyl Rolls for Cutter Plotter with 32 Colors to choose for $135 cad, not to mention there less than an hour drive from my house :). thats gotta be enough to do the car atleast twice.

I vote we hunt down anyone caught doing this to an MX-3 in the "Carbon Fiber" vinyl...

Unless it's pink carbon fiber... cause they dig their own graves at that point.
Wings on an MX3? What are you thinking?

i was thinking flat black or grey with carbon fiber wrap around the lip, mud guards, rainguards, spoiler and mirrors would look pretty snazzy. probably wouldnt go with that myself but itd probably look pretty sick. 3m makes some textured vinyl carbon fiber wrap that would probably turn out pretty good for this.

Looks pretty damn stupid to me. I'd rather just do the $50 paint job.

except a $50 paint job is going to look like crap 95% of the time. it also involves many many hours of sanding/polishing to get a nice result. it took me atleast 10 hours to prep, paint and sand/polsih just to do my spoiler with rattlecans. and it still didnt turn out as shiny as the rest of my car.
