Rear brake caliper bolts 96 gs
Rear brake caliper bolts 96 gs
So yeah Im still working on my brakes again. I decided to get new bolts for the rear calipers so that i wouldnt strip the bolts. So this is what happened. I went to part-source to get the replacement bolts. They were the wrong ones. I snaped the one bolt cause I thought the people there knew what bolts to give me ( i didn't check the threads, my bad). So they told me they would get me new ones. They tried to give me the same bolts. Then they told me that they couldnt find any others. Anyone know the OEM part number? Or ones that would work from another car? Like ford escort, probe? Thanks again in advance im tired of the retards at part source.

If you snapped the bolt trying to put it in because the threads were wrong, you likely fubar'd your entire spindle, and clearly need to learn what cross-threading feels like... caliper bolts should snug up almost by hand.
Why not go to Mazda? They would tell you the part number, and probably provide the bolts.

Or go to the wreckers and get used bolts from a clean car. If you are using the two main bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle, they are usually whistle clean inside.

There's no need to replace caliper bolts every time you do a brake job.

Re: Rear brake caliper bolts 96 gs
i checked to see if i fucked it up and nope its all good. the reason why i want knew caliper bolts is cause there going to stripe very soon( i was given standard sockets and found out later that its a metric system for my car). I guess I could call mazda and find out but figured someone must have done the same thing.
Re: Rear brake caliper bolts 96 gs
How tight do theses caliper bolts need to be?
