For sale – 1993 Mazda MX-3 GS Special Edition
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3 ... 64c02c36ea
$2000 obo

So, I’m selling the pink car. It’s a fun little car. I’ve had it for the last 12ish years, but I just don’t have the space for an extra car. I’m sure somebody here does, and this is a pretty good starting point for a fun ride. The body is straight, paint is in decent shape (sap in a couple of places, but otherwise good), interior isn’t cracked (hard to find any MX-3’s with leather, much less in good shape). Engine runs strong, and only has about 5K miles on it since I swapped it last January (like I said, I never drive the thing). For the last few years I’ve had a job where I predominantly rode my bike to work, so this car saw very few miles. I just started a job where I have to drive 100 miles a day, including taking clients around, so this just doesn’t fit that need (nor does a bike). So the car’s gotta go  . I just drove it from Gainesville to South FL and it reminded me of how fun it is on the highway….sigh. I just want to make sure it goes to a good home.

Current mods:
KLZE – KL31 cams, MS8 manifold
4.111 final drive (hooks up a lot better with the ZE)
Yoko 205/55/15 ES100’s with maybe 7k miles on them
Stainless Steel headers, exhaust wrapped to the collector
2.5” exhaust – Moroso spiral core muffler + supertrapp adjustable muffler
K8 VAF + KL36 ECU combo
GM HEI Ignitor
ACT Stage 2 – I think it was a 2600# PP. This thing is a tank.
ZX-2 Ford Motorsports struts with all of 5k miles on them
Mazdaspeed motor mounts with 5k miles on them
Battery relocated to the trunk
Probably some other small ancillary things like a metal endcap radiator etc that I’m not remembering.

Pending concerns:
AC does not blow cold. Hasn't for years. I had a guy I trust who looked it and said it was a simple valve leak of R12, but he didn't have the valve in stock to repair it. Never found anybody I trusted in Gainesville to look at it. AC was one of the systems on the car I didn't try to tackle, so it doesn't blow cold.

Sunroof leaks slightly. Like, if it’s pouring outside, you’ll see a drip on the passenger A-panel. Nothing major, probably could benefit from a seal that wasn’t 17 years old. Sunroof is a little sticky too, but does open and close with the button.

Passenger side window doesn’t roll down. The switch on the drivers side is the master, and passenger switch on that side has a broken little plastic piece in it. Just never got around to pulling one from a junkyard.

Clutch engagement point is low. Don’t know if this is so much a “concern” as it is a “feature” of ACT equipped MX-3’s I’ve driven. Just takes some getting used to, but you’ve got the full range of motion (just at the bottom of the pedal).

Bonus items – these items come with the car. They could be helpful, depending on your plans with this or other Mazda K series cars:

Megasquirt v3 Deluxe – I bought this in Jan 2009 bulk buy on Probetalk, and never installed it. It’s the one that you’re supposed to be able to run coil packs with and everything. Cost me $620 a year ago. FREE with purchase of the car 

KLZE – This is the first motor I swapped into the pink car. I overheated it. I tore it down and didn’t see any major damage (no visible cracks). Plan was to rebuild it as a 2.7 stroker (Justin Nenni holla!) + roots blower (hence the megasquirt). Oh well. The engine is broken down now to a short block (with crank/rods) and the top half of the motor is in a rubber maid container. KL01 cams with this motor. The bores have some surface rust, but you’re rebuilding this anyway, so going 30 over and decking the block will solve that problem. FREE with purchase of the car 

KLZE manifold – This is the straight neck one. Don’t remember which ZE this came on, but I couldn’t use it for the MX-3. These went for $250 back in the day. FREE with purchase of the car 

Original 1993 Mazda MX-3 shop manual. – this thing has bailed me out a billion times. I know you can get it online in PDF now, but its nice having one in your hand when you’re sitting under the car. FREE with purchase of the car 

So the price is $2000 OBO. Email me at davidccoleman@gmail.com if you’re interested. And of course, more pictures available upon request (just snapped a couple before the sun went down).

Shipping quotes are obviously off the charts and flying down and driving back is not only too expensive, but woul drequire a week off work.

Sorry Mr. Coleman. I would love to own your car, but I just can't swing it.
