DOHC B6 wiring harness to BP

Post by zreon »

Hey everyone,

I finally got my mx-3 on the road. It feels great to be driving it again! However I am running the BP on my DOHC b6 ecu. I already have a BP10 ecu sitting in my car but I know I need to change some wires on the harness. I have searched high and low for what needs to be done to my harness but can't seem to find anything on it.

Also, on a side note, did the 95 mx-3's have VICS? I saw one thread that said they did.

it's been posted 100x. Mi|<E has it posted in his worklog IIRC.

VICS-VRIS... yes, the DOHC has an internal butterfly

Mi|<E did the swap into a 94 which would be a SOHC. Also, the wiring he posted up only explains the dash wiring, not the injectors, etc...

I must be blind then. I can't find anything regarding wiring to a BP10 ecu with the DOHC harness.

http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... 1&start=45" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Those are the only diagrams I can find which don't mention the injectors or anything besides the gauge cluster.

try page 3. There are only a couple small changes that have to be made. Not sure if fuel was one of em.

Well the main thing is the DOHC b6 has 4 individual wires for the injectors where the BP only has 2 (1&3 , 2&4 are tied together) http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... 5&p=369648" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Should I just cut the wire on my #3 injector and tie it in to the #1? Same with 2 and 4?

There are a couple of other plugs that do not have a place right now because the plugs are different. I will look at them when I am at work tomorrow and find out exactly what they are. My main thing right now is just getting the injectors working correctly.

Don't try to adapt a B6 harness to a BP engine and ecu, its
too different. Just grab a protege harness and change the two
wires I have indicated in the worklog. With a safety pin and
10 minutes time you can have plug and play goodness.

That would be great, except for the fact that there aren't many around. I have called every junk yard in florida and been watching ebay for a month now. These things just aren't that common.

:bs

Try clubprotege.com

They always have stuff for sale. And I know theres a ton of guys in FL with modded proteges and the like with lots of spare parts.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

Ok, let me rephrase that a little. I have found a couple, but I don't have $175 to dump on a wire harness. The engine was only $200, haha.
