"performance chips" will make you loose hp and your gas mileage will get really bad... do a motor swap

or get megasquirt (pointless for k8) if you really want to optimize your fuel mixture

The chip tricks the ECU into dumping more fuel into the engine. So it runs rich, and gets horrible gas mileage as a result. Performance chips do nothing for our cars. piggy-back systems and full stand-alones are really the only ways to effectively tune through the "computer" to get optimum HP through the motor.

it messes with your fuel mixture and makes the car run super rich. basically floods the engine and doesnt burn all the fuel.

to optimize your hp you want the most fuel/air you car can burn at a given rpm. megasquirt lets you create your own tune so you can get the perfect mixture for your motor/setup. the chip basically throws off the signal to your ecu so it improperly calculates fuel/air mixture.

more fuel isnt always a good thing

goto a used parts place and get a klde from a mx6 if you want a relatively cheap hp upgrade

theres a place in chilliwack (pickapart) that sells motors for $250
