MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
...or how to remove a good chunk of weight in under a minute.
Look Ma, no glass!
So that's where all the pieces went.
At leats I never have to worry about the rear fogging up now...

Lame, dude!
The "under 60 seconds" part had me intriqued. Sorry to see that.
We're going to start a group buy soon for Polycarbonate hatch windows soon, if you're interested.

Since it's a daily driver, the lexan, although an interesting idea, would probably be more hassle than it's worth. Remember, I live in the land of igloos and maple syrup. On the other hand, my car is lighter than your car
Anyways, nothing will take you up more than the sound of the rear glass exploding outwards, then imploding.

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
You will be much better off getting a used hatch and painting it. The glass from the factory was quoted to me at $1800 when this happened to me about 4 years ago. I was able to get aftermarket glass but it was all wavy and crappy. If it happened again I would go to the wreckers.

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
Was that vandalism or stereo related??
Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
Car wash related...figured that taking it through one of them could not possibly damage the paint any more than it already is...technically, it didn't damage the paint...

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
I'm assuming getting anything out of the carwash company or insurance company is a lost cause??
Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
Gas company actually, and no, not really. Not when you have extensive documentation of everything, plus knowledge that a video feed captured the glass cometely intact going into the wash.umcamara wrote:I'm assuming getting anything out of the carwash company or insurance company is a lost cause??

Those video tapes get recorded over after not long... as you probably know, you should get on that ASAP.

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
wow... so was it an unusual car wash or what exactly caused it to go?! I've never taken my mx-3 through a car wash but just for future reference it would be nice to know

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
I bet it was the big rolling mop thing, that starts at the front of the car to the back. I've always wondered if it would smash mine out, they push down to get the lay out of the car. I was told.

Re: MX-3 to Del-Sol in under 60 seconds...
I think what happened was the rolling mop of death hooked onto th rear wiper arm assembly and tried to play tug of war. This explains why the sides more or less exploded outwards...

You should be able to get the car wash manufacturer to pay for that... I am in the insurance world and deal with commercial liability.
