Tranny swap question

I'm thinking about swaping the tranny in my mx-3 1.6 dohc to one from 323/323f 1.3, they both seem to look the same - but I'm not sure if the axles will fit, and if there's any difference between those two (is the 1.3 tranny shorter or not). - do you maybe know if there's any sense in doing it?

hum....well i know the 1.6 DOHC will hook up to the 1.6 SOHC but i don't know if it'll fit the 1.3 engine

Do you maybe know if the gearbox from 1.6 SOHC is the same in mx-3 and 323 ?

the gearboxes are the same. must use MX-3 axles. We've got a wider stance.

Thanks Ryan - so I assume that if people swap trannys in 323 from 1.3 to 1.6 than for certain tranny from 1.3 323 will fit 1.6 dohc mx-3 - Hope Im not wrong Once again thanks for help.

All B series engines have the same transmission bolt pattern. The only thing that I'm not 100% on is if the differential is the same diameter/spline count for the axles.

for general knowledge trannsmissions from 323 bg 1.6SOHC and 1.3 fit mx-3 1.6 DOHC without any changes ...
