WTB : mx3

Post by projectmx »

I'm currently selling my protege to buy a mx3 i would preffer a 94-96 model because i like the interior in those years but i am flexible... also i'm really hoping for a v6 but that too is flexible... since i will be adding a body kit and hood those pieces on the car that will be replaced do not need to be in perfect condition.. i also would like a darker color but red and teal would do if the price was right i'm looking to spend under 3000 and i want to take my time and find the right car... anyone have any ideas or know any cars that fit the bill? i'm in the chicago area and spend a lot of time in detroit also but i am willing to drive at least 300 miles if necessary... lastly the car must be drivable... doesnt have to be look great but very little rust is a must.. thanks

Join the club papa! I've been trying to cop one for a minute and all I've seen is people selling their "mustang sallen priced" MX-3 equivelents here on the board as opposed to a dealership cause IMHO if I had the amount of money that some of the heads on here are selling their cars for to spend on a whip, I'd be putting it on a hotter car! So do like Im doing..keep trying to find the bargain and the person who isnt trying to bank out on their car and maybe one of us will luck up. Happy Hunting!

i agree, "some" of the stock cars people are selling are a little high. hopefully you'll find a good deal.

some of us on the otherhand have cars that have a lot invested in them. you may not want to pay that much up front, but in the long run, it could be a good deal. i know i'm asking less than what's invested, but is still not all that cheap.

again, good luck.

cre8v...its not that the ones with mods are high... its just so much has been done already to many of those it kinda is hard to make it "my" car... i don't mind a slightly modded one but when the car already has absolutely everything done then when i go to a show i can't say its my car and i did it i have to admit the only thing i put i the car was my money.. i just bought one that was already done.... how much are you asking for yours?

ty.... i'm intersted... let me know the info on the car and the amount wanted.. thanks

i fully understand what you're saying. though with my car, there is always something else to do. diff manifold, bigger turbo, larger i/c, bigger injectors, racing seats, limited slip differential, swap heads, head work, bottom end work. as you see, the list just keeps going.

as for my car, i'm asking 6500obo.

i believe she wants $2000 and there is no stereo, theres a small rip in drivers side seat, The truck is stripped of the plastic and has been cleaned up VERY well, the spare is there the jack is not, rear speakers are gone, front passenger speaker grill missing, the passenger side quarter panel was quoted as a $500 fix and the other side you could probably get out with those little pop-a-dent things.

The car is Blue, and the paint is in decent shape. The car will be washed and waxed by me if sold and i will get under and see the other problems if you are interested.

I sold the lady this car pre-wreck and it was taken care of. She is the second owner, me being the first and i made maintanence a ritual.

Oil changed every 2,500 miles, along with the other fluids

I'm selling mine at the moment.. its a 95 RS (DOHC 4-cylinder), 5 speed tranny.. only minor mods, like altezzas, small system, intake/cat back exhaust, clear side markers.. it has 66k miles, all oil changes at 3k miles and just got a brand new timing belt (almost 300 bucks from mazda installed) and a tune up. the tires are in excellent shape. I saw that you're looking to spend around $3,000.. I'm asking around $4,000 for my car but I figured I'd offer it anyway if you're interested. let me know if you want more info.

well 2000 for a beat up and partially stripped mx3 seems a bit high...

.. and there are more than a couple of 94/95s on autotrader.com often for under 4000 in fact right now there are at least 6 well under 4000 and only a couple over and those tend to be v6s not i4s you do have a nice car but i'll look around for a while before i spend over 3000 especially on an i4 cause i'll have to spend a lot just to get some good power out of it
