Supercharge my KL-ZE

Post by bbunkerc397 »

Has anyone supercharged their KL-ZE? if so how did they make the S/C brakets that go on the left side of the engine. I already have the S/C drive shaft comming.

If you are asking questions like this you may not be ready to boost yet. Just because you have a sc in your hands does not mean your set, that's prollythe last thing you need for the kit.

Anyways, noone on this forum has the shafted setup, your best off doing a a/c location setup or go to probe talk and scrounge for info there about the shafted setup. You won't find much here

Thanks for the info, but I still want my AC for the summer. So locating their is not good for me a lot of the probe guys mount it over the starter and use the drive shaft across the front of the engine to the serpentine belt. I already have the vortech V5 used and the drive shaft. The brackets look intricate to build for S/C I thought someone might know anyone that has something kicking around. I also have to look at engine management fuel delivery and bypass valve ect...

Supercharging with the shaft setup is tricky and unreliable. You won't find anyone having anything laying around since there's only a few that have actually done it that way.

Too much heat with a turbo, I've always like superchargers better.

Also running as a street car not a race car, turbos over long periods of time will do more damage on none build engine.

People have done it and the shaft itself and the bearings tends to wear out prematurely and break from both the stress and the speeds.

You're starting with a V6. It has alot of low end power. Turbo's are no different towards the life of a motor compared to a supercharger. Forced-inductions is forced-induction.

There apparently was a kit done on ProbeTalk, the shaft itself was $900. If you want to spend the money, you need to find or make something that's pretty much aircraft grade. Balance and alignment needs to be perfect too.

Yes in way your right but it's the turbo heat that eventually burns out valves and not good for the head gaskets as well. I guess I will use ceramic bearings:
