1994 1.6L No Spark

Post by ravensteve9 »

I recently did an engine swap into my mx-3. It cranks but wont start. Its getting fuel and air, but no spark to the plugs. The engine has been sitting in my garage for a couple of years and seems ok. Ive done the checks according to the service manual between the A and C prongs of the 3 prong connector. No ohms. I did the same test on an another distr. I know is good and got the same reading. The manual says I should get an ohms reading. Im confused there....Also, the dist. is getting 12v from the connector. Its probably something simple Im overlooking like a relay. Ive checked all fuses and they are good. As far as can tell there are only two connectors to the distr. and they are hooked up.
Is it possible both are bad? Can sitting for a long period of time ruin them? Im trying to avoid purchasing a new distr. Thanks in advance!
