Electric Window (Drivers Side)

Post by Lori Carlyle »

I've just picked up a Mx-3 (Enuos)

Apart from a few things missing (Plastic fairing) it's sound and still pulling strong, the only major thing wrong is listed below.

Drivers side electric window:

It acts like it's off the rails (Technical term) the window will go up to a point, Around 85% up.. then the motor makes a clicking sound but the window goes no higher, I can grip each side of the glass and pull it to around 95% up but no more.

There is play in the window in Up, Down, Left and Right without force, just a slight push can cause the glass to move either toward the front or the back of the car on it's lowest points. (clockwise - anti-clockwise movement - Hence the "Off the rails")

Motor is strong and has current (Volt meter tested)

Any ideas?

Thansk in advance!

Ninjaedit: Also, Nice to find this forum, I'm sure i'll be here for a long time!

Your window regulator is shot. Go to the scrap yard and pick up another.

-Take off the door panel entirely.
-Either break the glass or find a way to roll it down far enough that you can see the bolts that hold the window to the regulator.
-Unbolt the window and remove it, if you didn't already.
-Unbolt the regulator. Is a bunch of 10mm nuts/bolts on the door, there are... 5? don't hold me to that.
-Wiggle it out of the door. Done.

You window rails could also be in bad condition. I know my rear driver's side rail is so rusted that I can move the window too.

picked up 3 Full doors (Inc Glass) from the local scrap guy for £35 today, not too shabby work.

All the wrong color but then thats not really an issue for me as I need the internals, I'm sure I can pick and mix and get it working alright :)

Even managed to get the other things I was missing :) Happy days to come!
