i think i may need some help
i just recently replaced my rear valve cover gasket and have had nothing but problems with how the car runs since(only a few days). It first wouldn't start after a fuel line crosing at the injectors. once I uncrossed them it started up but runs very roughly spitting and sputtering, shaking the car pretty good and and smoking out the back. I found that the all plugs were fowled and replaced them. The back three had oil in them hence the reason for replacing the gasket. i figured it might take some time on intiial start up to burn off oil that got down into the chamber after removing the plugs. Either way there was no real improvement with all new plugs. I have a bad vacuum problem were the nipple if broken off the the vaccuum chamber that sticks out near the rear middle plug wire, but it's been like that for years and the car has ran fine. i was thinking it could of been a timing issue but i just don't know how the timing would just all of sudden be off. So if someone could help me with this with there thoughts I would be very appreciative. thanks

It sounds like you messed up some of the plugs, double check the plug wires are connected to the appropriate plugs and that you didn't mix up the fuel rail connectors.

^ Agreed. Double check plug wires - one or more are crossed.

thanks alot guys it's running "normal" now but still is smoking. it literally csmokes the enitre time it's running grayish dmoke not the blueish burning oil smoke. I look like frigin cheach and chongs weed van! Any ideas what could be cause that? I'm idling higher too , around 1000- 1200 rpms throttle body screw is all the way in.
Re: i think i may need some help
The smoke could be coolant getting into your cylinders. Check your coolant level. When coolant is low the temp sensor isn't submerged and sends a signal to the computer that the engine is cool so it keeps the idle high. I hope you just have crossed up a small coolant line with a vacuum line. You may be accidentally feeding coolant into the intake system. Otherwise coolant is entering the cylinders through a leaky head gasket.

yea it's not possible to cross vacuum and coolant lines they are way diff. diameters. My coolant was low so i fllled it. I do have coolant hose with a small pin hole in it that steams out. So if it is getting into the cylinders is there some additive i can put in that may remedy this for a a short period of time? I drive this car like 5 times a month and not all in the winter.

Re: i think i may need some help
so i put ome $30 gasket sealer in my radaitor and it did not help much. You're suppose to idle the engine for 15 mins with heater on max, and what i noticed was that after 12 mins the heat still was not blowing hot. Could there be a restriction in one of my lined to / from the heater core?
