If you get these strut bars they do require some modding to fit the mx3 or protege for the front at least.

Re: note to people buying strut bars
One thing I did was dremel out the middle a little then just force it in by bolting it in.
but now it's rubbing the top of the motor a little on the intake mani so I think I may have to put a spacer on it but if you have the 4cyl it looks like it should clear it.

Re: note to people buying strut bars
these strut bars also suck because where the bar connects to its strut tower, the allen key bolt that connects bar to bracket, acts as a pivot point. when you corner hard the bar will pivot when the body rolls. a solid one or one with 2 bolts holding bar to bracket is really what you should want
however i still have a strut bar identical to that and i noticed a difference with it, but the fact remains ^^^^^^^

hahaha funny you should say that I was thinking about that the other day.
The thing is I'm too cheap to go for the real ones but maybe someday when my car isn't a joke and has some power I'll spring for a nicer one.

They're fine, that's what I have and I had no fitment or rubbing issues. It doesn't have the slope like some of the branded ones but it's still enough to clear the IM and looks way better in my opinion. There is no pivoting at all it's really rigid I can shake it and the whole car shakes with it.

Re: note to people buying strut bars
The idea about two pivot points is incorrect. Hold the ends solid, and there is no problem. Imagine you're gripping those pivot points. without rotating your hands at all, try and bend the bar. No go. rotate your hands, they go. Anything more than 2 points would be fail. 2 is fine.

Re: note to people buying strut bars
I can feel the car is much more ridged now.
