We can discuss this all day, but the cheapest way to 13s isn't in bolt on or turbo setups, it's in a little blue bottle in the trunk that says "NOS" on it. Not the best way, but certainly the cheapest.

btw, I PM'd you pricing info for that stuff you posted. The prices are way off, but I don't want to clutter up this thread anymore.

i do respect all the works, and i'm so not-ditching the v6/kl series, not in years, i'm ditching the fact to put thousands worth of parts to hit a 15-20hp,when it's so simpler to get the boost up and get dramatical increase in hp

let's see,
cam-4-500
MS-1500 with all hardware and instalation
pulley-150
flywheel-200
headers and exaust line-1000

right now we have 3-4000$ for what, roughly 20-40whp

put 3-4000 on a turboed car and u'll unleash what...100,150 more hp?

Your numbers are WAY OFF... Unless your paying a shop to do it for you...

megasquirt cost no where near 1500 to build and install.
exhaust cost no where near 1k
flywheel is free use a k8
pulley is useless and doesn't add any power
cams yea ok 500 i'll give you that one, but very few have put cams in the engines, the power band is just fine and the power drops off at 6800 and that's right at redline which is fine, you don't need to go over 7k
now since we've saved so much money lets take what 400 and drop a bottle in, call it a day and go to the dyno.

I've built a klze and a kfze, and didn't spend anywhere near your numbers

Give me 4k and I'll build you a turbo kl, that will yield some nice results or one mean monster of a NA motor.

My quickest time last night for the first time drag racing on my 205/40R17's cause they wouldn't let me take my fenders off for clearance for my M/T's was 14.572 @ 90.85mph... versus my fastest speed was 14.788 @ 97.01mph.

Congrats on the new best. I guess I'll have to go to the track again now, been out of town for work and on vacation. It's gonna be awhile before I get back to the speeds I was running. I put the taller rim/tire combo on to make more room on the trap but I have to learn to drive it all over again. The new rim/tire combo is about 10lbs heavier per corner.

Do you have your slip for that run? I like to compare all the numbers to see how the improvements impact each part of the run. Looks like you finally took advantage of the slicks and got a quicker 60ft. Good driving.

i sure do

i did 4 runs, all between 12.9 and 12.6, got kicked out after the 4th run because i didin't brought my helmet:(

the 1/8 times aren't there, i know...dont ask why
Image
only change since last time, was to change my map sensor so i dont hit boost cut in every gear while ''boost peaking''. so i setted it to 20 psi with 24 peak, still cant get 60' under 1.9 :,,(

i just installed a new clutch and transmition 2 weeks ago, got a 475wtq custom 4puck clutch but i didin't wanted a double presureplate, wich sucks for daily driving, and had the awesome surprise to feel the clutch slips while doing my burnout in third gear...even after 1000 km of break down...damnit

the guy is changing my clutch for free and i allready got to change my differential, it's almost impossible, i have been to the track only 5 times this year and i'm allready changing my second tranny:( i really have to go lsd i guess

Wow, your 60s are still only 2.0. Once you gets those down in the 1.7-1.9 range you'll get some damn good times. I'm running 2.03 60s on my street tires. I'm hoping to cut a 1.9 on streets before moving to drags or slicks. These new ones are wider, but heavier, so It's gonna be quite some time before it's getting down in a hurry again.

I'm tempted to put my old ones back on just to go try for a 12.60, I like our little BP vs KL rivalry, the times keep getting better little by little.

im sure if someone had the balls to run 20 psi through a KL and it didnt blow up, im sure that would result in a good time.

Victor on probetalk did a bunch of 20psi passes on a stock DE trying to blow it up. Ended up with an 11.4 I think. That was a few years ago.

All the passes I've posted so far are on street tires and 8psi of boost. I've got it tuned up to 14psi now, but I gotta get used to launching the new rims/tires. Headed out there tonight for some practice. The new tires are tall enough to trap 123mph in 4th so if I can get it moving down the track it has room to get faster.

i should be in the 11's no problem once i finish my transmission conversion and hit the track with some real slicks. i'm working on swapping over to a toyota E153 with an adapter plate etc. no more stripped gears for me!
