Re: awr mounts confused
It's the crossmember that causes the trouble, not the tranny. Just buy the ones everyone told you to and you'll be fine.

Probe front, mx3 rear no matter what tranny you use as you are gonna be using the k8 brackets on the tranny either way

Re: awr mounts confused
Yeah he has to drill out the cross member holes a little to fit the mounts but that is not hard.
I got probe front and MX-3 rear also. Have not fitted them yet.

Re: awr mounts confused
The probe and MX3 front mount are identical except for the studs that go into the crossmember (17mm on the probe, 14mm on the mx3). I don't see why you have to order a probe one and drill out your crossmember when an mx3 one will pop right in. The larger stud isn't going to give any real gains, the tensile strength of the 14mm is fine.
Is there another reason people are ordering probe front mounts that I just haven't heard yet?

Re: awr mounts confused
You are correct.
The reason why I and others say use the probe front is because awr obtained a front mount from mazda to make their mount for the mx3. For some reason they received and replicated a mount that is too skinny. My buddy has a mx3 mount and he has to run about 6 washers on each sidev of the mount to make it fit snug. Not a big deal, but the probe one does fit better.

Re: awr mounts confused
OK, good to know.
I've been working with mbolin on probetalk to make a full set of all four motor mounts for the MX3 V6. I sent him a spare set I pulled off a GS in the junkyard to use as templates. He makes the same style as AWR, but for a lot cheaper. It'll be quite awhile before the project gets anywhere, he said he might have some news by the fall.

Re: awr mounts confused
mbolin packed up shop and stopped making parts so that project died on the table. I at least got him to send back my spare mounts and I went ahead and filled them with 94A urethane. Came out really well for a total cost of $33.
