How are you planning to paint them. I mean steps will you take? What tools will you use?

I would like to paint my new bumper and lip myself but I don't really know how. I am doing some reading and trying to learn. Any help that you can offer would be uhh...helpful.

well what i did was go to crappy tire, and bought some of the duplex spray paint i think its called, some primer, and some sand paper. i think the highest grit they had for the palm sander i have is like 120 or 220 i cant remember. from what i read on different sites online they used 400 grit.

so yeah i sanded everything down. after that i wiped them down with a dry cloth. after that i stared using the primer. i did 2 or 3 coats. then i used the spray paint with 2 or 3 coats.

so yeah they came out pretty good seeing as how iv never done it before. sorry i suck at explaining stuff.

Nope! You will have to go to NAPA and if they have the paint dept on site they can make you up a spray can of it..... though it's $30 a can! Colour code 6V!

Clear coat...makes it shiny.

I'm going to go for it. I have a front and rear bumper, Euro mini sides and a door to replace. I also have a bad key scratch on the driver's rear quarter to fix.

Should be fun and if it looks like crap I was planning on getting the car painted at some point anyway.

Don't do maaco unless you want your paint job to fall apart after a year. If you're getting it painted, do it right.
