And likewise Jeff loves what he does....actually he probably hates it....but he does it anyway.
I've seen my car pics used in peoples ebay ads at least 10 times....without any notification. It all comes down to profiting from other peoples work without asking or appropriate compensation.

Jeff, you have my apologies. You quoted me $20USD. per month...it was the Nissan people who wanted $50.USD. In any case, I don't think I can justify any advertising expense, as I said, it is just myself and an apprentice, so we do not produce anything in huge quantities. The R&D that goes into developing these new parts is quite high, and there just isn't enough margin to pay for advertising. There are enough boards who let me advertise free, I will just make parts for those cars....I have a few of these MX-3 tie downs, I will get rid of those on Ebay, and then just not make any more Mazda parts...
Thanks anyways

wow...you cant do 20 bucks? some of the members here including myself donate 20 bucks once in a while. Sounds like if we dont let you advertise for free that you are not going to make parts for our cars anymore..Leaves a bad taste in my mouth for your business practices.

Jarid, that is correct, I can't justify the $20./month. I have invested over $10,000. in material and labour to build up a small inventory, I have invested several thousand into having a website created, and pay $65. per month on top of all the setup fees to be able to accept Visa and Mastercard. Of course, as Jeff knows, I also pay a monthly fee for the website hosting. So far, my total sales are less than $3,000. Jeff's advertising cost is not unreasonable, but I am struggling, and why wouldn't I go where the advertising is free? I won't make parts for your cars, not out of spite or anything, but how would I sell them? Does it not make more sense to make parts for the cars where they WILL let me advertise on their boards? I am not doing this to get rich, and I am not a large business. I am a machine shop that has been in business 4 and a half years, I have yet to make money, I have invested every penny I have saved in my 51 years, and I am struggling. I started this car parts thing as a way to fill my slow times. My main work is still machining for other industrial customers. I enjoy it, and try to make it win/win. If you check out ca.dsm.org you will find they love me there, same at teamZX2.com and Toronto Subaru Club. I try to provide QUALITY accessories at REASONABLE prices, especially to Canadians who are so often hit with the dreaded brokerage fees on top of the USDollar exchange, and I will continue to do that where I can, but I will NOT pay for the privilege...
