Double lower tie bars...? And Double rear Sway bars...?

Post by BuGS »

Has anyone tried putting two lower tie bars on?? One on the front side of the rear end, and one on the back?? I am thinking about doing that and am just wondering if anyone has.

And has anyone ever heard of doing a double stock rear sway bar setup?? I was talking to a couple 323 and RX7 guys at a meet in Seattle a while back and they said that is how they would do setups instead of a performance bar.

I had thought about doing the double sway bar when I thought that the Whitelines were no longer available.
It may work for a track only car that won't experience bumps, but the rest of the susp. system would have to be beefed up to handle it. The problem would be; if you hit a bump with one wheel, it would jerk the other one up, and cause a shimmy.
I have also thought of putting my stock tie bar on the front of the rear setup, since I got the Aluminum one, but haven't tried it.

The Escort and Protege guys use dual sway bars. I thought it was kind of funky but they seem to like it.
