If you are looking to replace the sensor itself and are not afraid to search through parts yards, try to find a maf from the MX-6, it will improve the way your intake is flowed.

No, that won't work. The ECU don't recognise a MAF at all. The other ones that will work are the VAF's from Probes, 626 and Mx-6 KL V6's, but even then they don't work right since they use different resistance than the stock Mx-3 VAF. The stock K8 VAF sends the proper signals back to your sock K8 ECU, if you use anything else, the ECU won't get the right signals, and it won't right right, or at all.
You either use the stock JE50 MX-3 VAF, or you convert to Megasquit than you can use the GM IAT sensor.
