Audio question

it may be posted somewhere else. so im sorry for doing it again. i plan on getting a mtx sub and amp but i dont know how to read the specs very well. i.e ohms and watts and other audio facts. If you know about this stuff please help me understand it. i would like to know more about this stuff

Well I am no sub expert, so correct me if I am wrong guys, but from what I know all you need to worry about is..

The OHMS of the sub and the RMS rating of the Sub.
The RMS power of the amp @ the same OHMS as the Sub.

Example:
I have a MTX MXS1004 and it is 400w RMS @ 4ohms, single voicecoil.
My amp is a MTX TC6001 and that is 300w RMS @ 4ohms. Abit underpower but the test spec sheet says 337w RMS @ 4 OHM

Your sub choices:

T8512-04-
500w RMS @ 4ohms - Single voice coil

T8512-44-
500w RMS @ 4ohms - Dual voice coil

The amp is powerful enough for both easily to run 1 sub:

700 Watts RMS x 1 Channel @ 4 Ohms - Thats 200w more then needed, you can even get a smaller amp if you want, unless you are running 2 subs then this is OK.

If you are getting 2 subs, then get the dual voice coil sub so that you can parallel them and run them at 2ohms and get 1000RMS @ 2ohms from the AMP. Here is a diagram of that, you basically cross the voicecoils together to drop the resistance rating (OHM) to 2 OHMS so that you can get more RMS out of your AMP to the subs:

get 2x single 4's run in parallel get a 2 ohm load that'll send 500rms to each sub.
