b6 tranny on a bp?

one of my buddies has a 323 and he has a b6 in it i believe but he wants to get a bp motor and he can get only the motor will the stock b6 auto tranny bolt right up to the bp motor? thanks guys

and it is an automatic tranny

Well, is the manuals can, I don't see why the auto's cant...but it would probably blow up in a short time not long after.

Okay, I'm seeing 3 or 4 threads about trannies and motors. I'm going to say it.

SEARCH! its definately on here. I wrote some of them.

All B series motors interchange and therefore so do their trannies. Whether or not the wiring interchanges, thats another thing.

thanks ryan, i did search and i wanted a clear cut answer because the other posts ive seen have been the other way around about using the bp tranny on the b6 and i just didnt want to give my friend any wrong info, but thanks
