So I was 'racin' a 300c with a hemi, and worked him....but after, I couldn't shift into third
it's kinda funny, because I knew it was going since it popped out the other day while I was driving...oh well, new trans time I guess....anyone have a g-series to sell in alberta?

I have a MX-6 tranny...

first and third are the weak link along with the thrust section of the gearbox.
A GTX third gear is the strongest "stock" gear availiable.

HP doesn't kill your gear is the torque.
The ones from a G series diesel gearbox will survive with 268ft/lb torque day in and day out with a full new car 100,000km warranty.

Is that the supposed 323 diesel gearbox? Where would you go about getting one of these besides harassing importers about them?

Yoda and Kiwi posting in the same thread? This hasn't happened for a little while... Who turned on the Improbability Drive?

one word "Torchwood"
Im in a bit of a better situation having RPM engineering in NZ and PAR in austrailia both
having made custom gearsets for the G series box.
Yoda would know more about the 323 diesel gearbox, the 323 diesel was never imported
to NZ as a new car. I have no idea what the ratio would be.
However The missues nagged me to death about letting her dragrace the car as at the
moment Im not able to drive.
result one broken gearbox again!

Given that the GTX is a oem/jdm part your local mazda dealer would be able to get you one.
( Ok might be 6 weeks from japan like my diff ) but then again seafreight for 15kgs is a dam
sight cheaper than air frieght.
Im currently going back to the drawing board after the missues toasted the box, still she has
the better 60' time of 1.76 compared to my 1.8
Not her fault, she normally races DYO instead if heads up, and the pressure / excitment on the
night got to her after getting into the top three, she did'nt reset the limiter to soft for the tree
and dropped the clutch at over 9000rpm ( something has to give )
Personally ID love to toss out the diff and have a mini spool instead, less weight and no hassles
Not that I can't afford a quaife, my build has been about what I can use off the oem shelf or
modifiy off the oem shelf.
Most of my development of the car has been in the suspension side, and engine / gearbox mounting.
and weight distrubuion in the car itself, that is where the gains have been made not the motor.

The Edmonton pick n pull has 3 GS's as of yesterday.
Re: Lol, g series transmissions don't like 300whp :)
Whoa, whoa. What's this about a diesel gearbox? That sounds like it'd have a very low final drive ratio and/or gearing ratio!
The G series tranny mates with the K series engines, right?
I would love a final drive ratio more around 3:1; all I get is wheelspin in 1st and 2nd anyway. If I could do 100km/h at 2000rpm it would be a dream come true.

If its got the right bell housing, yup. All G series internals should be interchangeable.

Does anyone have more details on this diesel tranny? I can't seem to find much on google.
What's the part #? Final drive ratio? Gearing ratios? Same engine mount locations? Price/availability? LSD-swappable? I'm excited about this!
