CorkSport Strut Bar

Post by MX3-Life »

Sorry if this topic has been asked already i could not find it in the search...
Anyways,

I have recently been thinking about buying the CorkSport Front Strut Tower Bar ($89.00)
http://corksport.com/store/large/bd27/m ... r_Bar.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And wanted to know if its any good and if its worth the money, So if you know someone who uses it or you use it and have any thoughts on it that would be great.

I got my strut bars from nopionline.com

They're pretty beefy and were $70 for the pair. That was a few years back though.

When I got mine many moons ago, it was widely spoken that there was a noticable difference in the Corksport one, especially for the rear.

I put a corksport one in the front of mine and noticed the difference right away. I'm not 100% sure how much of a difference the rear ebay one made though, I made a lot of changes to my car all at once.

I never had an eBay one, but my CorkSport one, especially the front, I noticed a huge difference between having it on and not. It was my first performance mod really. I really missed it when I put in the ZE, ran without it for a few months until we figured out how to get it to fit the IM. It sucked having the ZE with no CS bar. Going faster in straights but not being able to corner as fast. Was tight to get it to fit with the Outlaw spacers, but I would not give up that strut bar, no way.

I had issues with fitment even without pheno spacers.... I had to grind a chunk off the intake manifold and space the bar up from the struts.

Mine I shifted up on a set of nuts, than back. With the thermal spacers, I had to grind the excess off the top of the VRIS plate.

i had the 1st gen corksport strut bar in front, it didn't want to fit to nicely with the ze in, but that issue was taken care of after i stopped by a friends house with a torch. Little heat and bend and it fit like a glove

the ze seems to have issues fitting under many of the strut bars out there.

i'd think the corksport ones are better than ractive and most of the ebay ones simple due to how much beafier they are than the small round ones you find elsewhere.

i'm hoping to build a 3 point solid one though that uses the firewall as the 3rd point making the body much stiffer than a 2 point non solid one like corksport and all the other ones out there
