Re: fianally getting an mx3
You're allowed to buy cars out of the junkyard?! NOT FAIR!!!
Aside from that one rust spot, it doesn't look bad. Nice find.
Needs a hood though?

Re: fianally getting an mx3
Well its not fair because all the yards I've been to are like, " The shells are off limits, you can take anything from it, but not the whole car." The classic car junkyards are different though.
There was a fully operational 92 rs that pick-n-pull paid $150 for. It had a little front end damage. I offered $300, they said no. If its a "builder" they sell the whole car, if not then you're s**t outta luck.
I guess they figure they'll make more money letting people pull parts off the cars, even though I'm pretty much the only one taking parts off the mx-3's.

Re: fianally getting an mx3
no man, the reason wy they would sell it to you for 300 is because they can make mor money by scrapping it.metal is not cheap.plus they will make mad money off parts.it just depence who you talk to, i knwo the guy well enough
Re: fianally getting an mx3
Check where the rear end joins the sub frame rails. It may be rotted out, if so you have a lot of welding to do.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: fianally getting an mx3
the one beside it has full tank, so ima borrow some from that car
Re: fianally getting an mx3
umm I don't know what to say..... Why buy it out of a junkyard?? There are plenty of MX-3's on Kijiji and Autotrader in perfect condition for prices around $500-$3000!!! Sorry but it just seems that you can get a road worthy one for around the same price without the headache! The price on parts alone for that car to make road worthy will cost more in the long run.. I think anyway.

Re: fianally getting an mx3
I gotta agree with what Colin said above, you can find a good shape MX-3 easily for $1500-$2000 and not have to deal with the hassle of restoring and finding parts all over the place. Then after all the time and effort to get it done, in the end it comes out to be more expensive than just waiting for a good deal for a nice one.
