You will have to port match and would be way easier with the heads removed, And No you wont need anything that is associated with VRIS if you have gutted the IM.

That's a good question. I know that Probe/Mx-3 owners get a power gain by putting on a ZE manifold on their stock motor. Couldn't hurt to try...

They don't and they do get an improvement of a few hp, but it would be idea. However, it would probably be cheaper to put on ZE heads on a DE rather than porting the DE, but I may be wrong.

Its a small gain, from what I hear, not worth the money. Manifolds go for about $150-$200 shipped.

That much money for only 4whp?

Lol, that's about right, and that's what they do. Maybe on boost it would be more substantial tho

You can purchase phenolic spacers that are already port matched.
cost just over $100. No need to pull the heads when you can just
slap the phenolics on there and be done.

That doesn't really make much sence. Regardless what spacers you get, either the IM with match the spacers and not the head, or the head with match the spacers but not the IM. The only way to get it to match would be to get the head ported to match, and get the proper gasket (and/or spacers) to match.
