these guys make custom LED gauges. you would need to send them a gauge cluster for them to model. i'd rather have the glows, honestly. but the lit needles are pretty cool
Yeah I saw that second vid. It was sweet. Here is a translation (thanks goes to a friend of mine on yahoo for translating.):
film # 1-
0:03 this film shows the work on panel in a mazda mx3.
0:08 The aim was to lighten the clocks' pointers and face (disc) with the possibility of changing colors.
0:17The picture shows the clocks taken apart and the work on the first module which lightens the speed indicator...
2:08 and the first tests
2:45min - it says "work on the rotation indicator"
end of part one.
film #2 part two
temperature and fuel indicator
4:25 - all put together
4:39 steering
For the color changing lights, he actually had some sort of color changing setup that was separate from the stock lights. In one of the pictures around 2:00 he showed the cluster "body" apart with some lights inside it.. those I am assuming are the color changing lights.
I also figured out that he actually uses his own LCD display.. he actually removed the stock one and wired up his own setup (as shown in the second video.)... I am going to try and ask him how he exactly did that...
I am going to actually try this as soon as I figure out where I can get some color changing lights..
as for the needle, i do not know how he did that, and am going to figure that out soon..
