Hey, it's cool. I like a challenge :D
It seems we're talking about the same thing.. You'll see when I put up pictures. I'm doing it this way so that it; won't get dirty water from the ground, will have a straight path for the air to travel, and will have a big enough hole to be a true ram system. I've made a couple, on other cars, and have refined my design. The air will be just as cool, if not cooler, coming straight in. My car is black, so the sheet metal heats up.. not enough to really affect the air temp in the fender well, but maybe.

The leather seats were OEM in the 93 Special Edition MX-3.

Jesse, nice job on the car. Post some pics when you do the external coil.

Thanks :D
The seats he and I have are different than the SE ones, just slightly. They don't have the tiny perforations.
I will post pictures of the HEI thing. I'm going to do a 60,000v coil, with an MSD. I want to be sure ALL the precious fuel is burned! IIRC, stock is 40,000.

I just took off my spoiler, for better aerodynamics, and I like it better. I always felt like the spoiler looked like an afterthought.
Also, I put on MazdaSpeed sideskirts, for better aero, too.

Along with these, i'm going to make rear wheel skirts. This should get me a couple more MPG, and it will look more like the original concept sketch.
This is a (bad) MS paint (No smudge tool) rendition of what it will look like:

This was my 1st attempt at photoshopping

I was afraid of that, but they're definitely onto something..
I was just think that it would be hilarious if people at the track thought that it was a Prius, or something, doing low 14s, and tearing around corners @ AutoX!

Wait...if its true that our back tires turn by themselves, then is it possible that the tire will scrape your invention?

I'm really interested to see how those wheel skirts look - I LOVE older cars that have wrap-over wheel wells.

Yeah, I'm concerned about that. I'm going to put on ones made of cheap material first, and tear up a parking lot, and refine how far out they need to be. I'm planning to have them come out from the fender a little to begin with.
If this absolutely won't work, I'll decrease the fenderwell gap, to almost touch the tires, and make a flat hubcap.

Thanks, guys :P
Stablo, just take a little more time bondoing, and sanding (using a block).
Mine is very dirty in those pics, so I'm glad you still think it looks good...
