Diagnostic codes

Post by blaudust7 »

Hey everyone! Does anyone have a list of codes or can help me out with this one code? I had a code of 15, which is an 02 sensor. I replaced it. Now I have the code 16. Is that the other 02 sensor?

code 16 is EGR position sensor

Did you bump any connectors or vacuum lines while changing O2?

If everything looks alright - try clearing the code and see if it comes back...

Usually the sensor and the valve dont go bad - the valve might get "stuck" due to excessive carbon deposits (which can be cleaned to make the valve work like new). The valve can also get stuck due to bad vacuum line routing or the vent line being plugged.

If you do find a suitable replacement valve - you can just unbolt the old one and put the new one in.

Any info on how to clean? Can I use one off of the 2.5L V6?
