im going back in an hour looked underneath neither were hanging last nite but if they broke the boot would make it appear together at least at night i tried to feel it but the fronts too low so im going with a jack cuz if its the tranny its going to the wreckers, seeing it has 120-140000 kms on the newer tranny im hoping it wouldnt be gone. what should i look for when inspecting the cv shafts

the cv shafts ticked while on sharp corners for 4 months also. But only from a stop or slower speed when gas was applied.

well if they were ticking,,you dumpin the clutch at high rpm with added weight in the car,,definatley cv shafts..even if the boots not torn they could still be separated and damaged..myself i have a torn boot but the cv is still in tact and not ticking..yet

cv shaft is replaced:) im so happy to find one before the weekend but i had to settle for a used one. now that everythings up and running again i was wondering where i top up my gear oil/tranny fluid. i saw a bolt that could be removed on the front of the case just under the half way mark. is this where i fill it? it seems like more of a drain plug just by where its placed to me.

It will be different on an auto. Auto trannies require changing the fluid waaay more often than manuals.

Lots of guys on here use the speedo cable hole. Seach it, its here.
