Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
I put on the oil filter, alternator and its belt tonight. Also did the
vaccuum hoses and the throttle body.
Just need to do the clutch alignment tomorrow and then its ready
to pop in either tomorrow night if things go well or Sat morning.

Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
this could be a dumb question, what is custom about the vacuum hoses? Oh, and the BP engine looks really good. How did you paint it?
Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
The hoses arent actually custom, just differently done up from the book.
No cruise control and the fuel pressure regulator is from the B6 so it has
two hoses tied to one... it should work the same.
As per cost, lots. Theres always something that comes up and it costs
a bunch. I'll do a breakdown when im actually finished. Finished as in when
the standalone, turbo and better tranny are all in.

Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
I replaced the axle that didn't fit because of the half-shaft/intermediate-shaft lastnight.
In doing so I snapped a 1/2 inch breaker bar on the axle nut (hella tight) but bought
a 3/4 inch lifetime guarantee one because of it. I'll take some pictures of the broken bar
later on because its rather hilarious.
With that done just need some 5/8 inch heater hose and to do the wiring. After that its
startup and drive to an exhaust shop with an open exhaust time.
Edit: exhaust to be done AFTER turbo installed. Crappy stock weld up for a few mo's till then.
Im debating whether to get a 2.5" or 3" exhaust for the turbo, everyone keeps telling me get
the 3". Anyone have a 3" and a GT2871R or similar? Heard its all about the spool time or some
such which is why the 3" is the better choice.
And mufflers? My thoughts were a Magnaflow high flow cat to a glasspack to a Magnaflow
muffler with a 3" inlet to either dual 2.5" outlets or one 3" outlet. If im going to get the 3"
pipe it may aswell be mandrel bent too.
Anyone had any problems with Magnaflow?

Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
hahaha!! no way!!! i broke 3 of those 1/2 inch breaker bars!! good thing crafsman has lifetime warranty...just walk in and change em out! mine all broke on the knob piece that inserted into the socket.
and yeah i had to get a 3/4 in breaker bar with matching sockets.
thats amazing! i did the exact same thing...just some cheap set up for now til i go turbo for the exhaust!!
what kind of cv axle did you wind up using? i had to get rid of the one i currently had cause that bracket on the jackshaft didn't line up and just went with the 93 mx3 one long one!

Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
Here is what happened to the breaker bar:
(You can really see the bend in the 2nd pic)
![Image](http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r298/mikefoo/P3020016.jpg)
![Image](http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r298/mikefoo/P3020017.jpg)
And the 3/4 big daddy in comparison:
![Image](http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r298/mikefoo/P3020018.jpg)
Moral of this is to just get a 3/4 if your attempting to take off axle nuts.

Wow, that's a pretty intense project you got going there. Congratulations on your progress!! I know I do not have the skill or ability to tackle such a project. Keep up the great work and keep the updates coming!! Great Job!!!
Re: Mi|<e - 94 RS BPT
My car ran today. Went on the first crank after I primed it some starter only with the plugs out.
It sounded like a prop engine without the exhaust hooked up with the open header.
Here is plug #1 after the initial bit.

Looks good to me.
