Post by Legato626 »

The bore on the KL 84.5mm but the HP kits come with either (86, 85, 85.5mm bore) Will this place me into a big problem or will i still be able to use it with out boring my block?

You have to measure your cylinders first. Not sure how many miles you have on your engine but I would guess its over 100k. I would recommend going with an oversized piston .020 or .5mm, but that depends on the big size of any of your cylinders. When I rebuilt my first KL I used a set of used ZE pistons. When I measure my cylinder bores they were are right at the maximum size for the stock piston. Well I used them anyway and I never had a cylinder over 200psi on a compression check, at the time people were getting ones from Japan with 220 across the board. Just my 2 cents! GL!
