ATX to MTX tranny swap motor mount question

Post by studboy13 »

ok, so i know the top motor mount is different but is the back one as well? i got a used mx3 transmission today and the rear motor mount wont bolt on, the mount it too wide on the engine where the bolts need to go through? would it be ok if i just ground the tranny down? i read the swap and it does not even mention this? any help? anyone else encountered this?

hey, dude, I ran into this also.

I cut and welded my mount to fit...but I don't think that was the right way to do it though...

I think there is a different mount or something...can someone clarify?

im unsure of my abilities to weld, because that was the first thing that came to mind, but i think im going to grind into the tranny if no one else responds, because it is just kinda there, and grind a half an inch off i dont think will hurt it.
any opinions?
