I have a 94 mx3 1.6 dohc, that needs a 5 speed tranny,does anybody know if one from a 94 protege will fit??

1.8L BP?? Yes. Although I believe the protege tranny uses a mechanical speedo cable, whereas the '94++ MX-3 uses an electronic speedo sensor. I'm not sure what you'd do in your case. I think you use some kind of washer when you're tightening in the speed sensor, or something to that effect.
