Is it not best to use DE springs on intake?
KLZE has 40lb seat pressure, 140lb open pressure Valve springs
KLDE has 50lb seat pressure, 150lb open pressure.
Not that I'd know for sure, I just rebuilt mine with interprep springs all round :D

I used a magnetic tool that came with my valve spring compressor tools, and my finger  But yea a socket should work, perhaps something soft inbetween to prevent damage though. Put a little bit of clean oil on the contact areas of the seal - where it attaches to the head and the inside for the valve. Theres a noticable clunk/click feel when it's on right. There's load of guides on the net for something more detailed :)
