Why I hate the MX-3 engineering team sometimes

That is the amount of crap I managed to dig out of the left side space between the door and fender. There's more in there because I can feel it with a probe but I can't reach it. Oh, there's also a plastic spoon in there somewhere, since I was using that to dig the dirt out.

In other news, I lost a wheel on the highway.

yeah thats a bad spot for collecting soil/leaves.. along with many other things. Everytime I wash the car I spary that area out with the washer. Most of the time it just has leaves in there.

*runs and sees what he finds* well I see why my mudflaps didn't sit tight to the car...the fenders are rusted out on the bottom

this is probably the reason? (the engineering part)

I would say so.

A couple years ago I moved out west to work for a year.. well just a working vay-k LOL.. anyways befor I took off I washed/waxed my car and covered it up and stored it in a barn/gerage. Long story short, I came back after a year took the car out and checked it over. I did not clean out the drain holes on the bottom of the drive side door. They were pluged up with maple keys ( maple tree seeds ) and I had a rust spot the size of a fist right above the drain hole. All because I missed thoughs drain holes. Now befor I store the car I make sure I go over everything. All over the car.

fist size was a little over kill.. there is no hole there. however I would have to cut it out if I wanted it fixed 100%.. I have been looking for a good driverside door for a while.. well 2 years or something.. most of them around here are rusted or smashed...

Did you lose the wheel while driving? This has happened to two of my friends before, sucks.

I get mostly leaves stuck in those spots, this thread reminded me, that I should check mine as I have not done so in some time :|

First I had four wheels, then I had three...

I suspect someone may have loosened the lugnuts at night, since they were all torqued down to spec three times and I drove about 3000km with them and was fine

Its right between the front fender and door its actualy the bottom of your front fender but the only way you can reach it is if you open the door. Btw about that mx3 bp awd project i cant open the thread quick question is the same thing possible with the ZE or you can only do it with the bp.

When I first bought my car I took off the front fender to fix a bad dent and took about 2 pounds of dirt and leaves out of it. I think it gets in when it runs down the inside of the wheel well and through the cracks and just sits in the fender. Also, if you push a pressure washer under your bumper to the same spot behind the rear wheels, you'll probably find the bottom of the ocean in there. I did. I'm debating making drain holes or something.

I'm either lucky, or don't know the exact spot. Would someone please take a picture?
