Hi to everyone here on mx-3.com . I've done a hood damper kit (bolt on) for the Mx-3 1991-98 chassis code ''EC''.

Price: CAD 120$

The kit contains:

-2 Nitrogen filled dampers
-4 M8 x 1.25 Zinc plated Ball joint type studs and nuts
-All instructions and measures to bolt-on fit on your vehicle
-2 year warranty

-After the installation of this kit, you no longer need hood rod.

-The kit add about 1 pound to the car.

-The kit will fit CF hoods, but is first designed for metal ones. The only reverse-side for CF hoods will be: The hood will open slightly faster due to weight reduction of the item itself.

...ohh, count me in, pending pictures. Also, assuming this is on a stock hood, will they be to strong / any problem for a CF hood?

$160 CAD is the same as USD now and to be honest as cool as that would be I can't see spending 160 on it. so like he said what makes it so much better and worth that much?

They are universal. One size fits all.

Most kits are sold in the range of 300$. If you think all kits will fit, try it by yourself. You will find that is more complex than it appears first !

Its not that people are discouraging development, it's that its $160 for some hood shocks. If people can get basically the same thing for $130 less, we just want to know what makes them worth that much more?

I'm happy for everyone if they can find a kit for 130$.
