Biggest wheel size
what is the biggest wheel size i can get in width and diamiter before i run into problems. i have KYB-GR2 struts and lowering spings i am looking for somehting with a good sized lip on it but as we all know if you want a nice lip the width gets bigger so id like to max it out.

Re: Biggest wheel size
i guess no one knoes eh, im sure it been asked befor and i have been serching for it but as most of the people who use the serch function know if you dont use the exact words you get jack all. so if somone could let me know that would be great i want to max out the space i have for shows.

Re: Biggest wheel size
Probably your best bet is to see the specialists, a mag shop or something, get some measurements done. With it being for shows it wouldn't have to be practical (or legal) so you could get a huge (or tiny, i forget which way it goes lol) offset and roll the guards

Re: Biggest wheel size
a member from our club in holland has put on 20inch rims with a fully adjustable coiloverkit ( lowered 6-7cm)
and those rims are WAY bigger then stock 17inch size (215x40x17)
he has it running for a couple of weeks now, and its doable, but not on a daily

Re: Biggest wheel size
I know there is a guy in memphis that put 20's on his mx but didn't lower it... lol it looked like a dune buggy... but like the others have said I'm not sure about the width... It seems like somebody said 215 is the widest you can go with tires before you start to run into problems??

Re: Biggest wheel size
That's an interesting front kit, i like the way the airflow to the radiator is blocked off
even without wierd offsets or spacers, if you choose your rims carefully you should still be able to get a decent lip, after all, we've only got tiny brakes and calipers to allow for

Re: Biggest wheel size
i have 225/40/18 on 18x9 +25. it pokes out about 10mm in the fronts and flush in the rears... i am going to be using a 13mm spacer in the rear so its even with the front poke...
id say u can fit 18x9 +35 in front and 18x9 +25 in the rears... if u dont want to do different offsets to be flush and u dont like poke, id say 8.5 width in +30 all around is good.
i didnt have too many pics of my setup and http://www.carpron" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; lost my mx3 pics

Re: Biggest wheel size
Might worry a bit about the extra forces a larger/heavier wheel will put on those GR2's. They aren't much more than stock struts for performance and a larger wheel diam and width could add significant unsprung weight to each corner.Flinch wrote:what is the biggest wheel size i can get in width and diamiter before i run into problems. i have KYB-GR2 struts and lowering spings i am looking for somehting with a good sized lip on it but as we all know if you want a nice lip the width gets bigger so id like to max it out.

Polk-momo? To b honest i never noticed that they were 19"s until i read it up. Imo 19" still look good, maybe just a bit too big, but not dat much dat it would look ugly. But dat's talkin about the looks.
