Re: castrol syntec
I've used Amzoil synthetic and Mobil 1 synthetic and can't really tell the difference. Haven't used Castrol.

Re: castrol syntec
I've always been a fan of Mobil 1. Whether it actually protects better or worse I don't know. I just know that when I switched to Mobil 1 on my last car, it fired up and ran so much smoother. I had previously used Castrol GTX conventional oil.
I've always heard to stay away from synthetic oils if you have any oil consumptions issues.

I've always used Mobil 1. At work we make stuff for Mobil 1 to "dumb it down" so to speak. I wish i could get my hands on it before we put our products into it. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: castrol syntec
DON"T switch to a synthetic oil in an engine with 159000miles. Enough said!
