Hi everyone >_<.

Post by Jepha »

Hi guys, I figured i might as well introduce my self before i start posting. :) Name is Thomas PROUD owner of a mx3.

My step dad bought me a 94 MX3 GS, for passing last summer. Ive been trying to find a site like this for quite some time. Awesome site btw very informative, lots of information, people seem to be nice.

I'm kinda new to the whole car thing as well, I was just going to ask a few questions. I see all of you guys talking GS. ZE, KLZE, KFZE, K8, i'm not sure if theres anymore or not? What is the differences? Really I have no sweet clue. I was also wondering is my car just a MX3 GS? how do I know if its k8...etc. Where do you guys/women buy your parts to? I was going to start but just buying a cold air intake and go form there but i can't find one thats for a mx3?

My car is currently sitting in my driveway for the winter :(. Id be more then happy to upload some pictures if any of you guys wanted to see her. I also want to know what should I do before I take her back out end of march early April? :welder:

welcome to the forums! to answer a few of your questions, you have the MX-3 GS, which means that you have the k8 V6 1.8l engine. the KLZE is that common swap that all the GSers like to do, replacing thier K8, the KLZE is a 2.5l V6 with about 200 HP.

The KFZE is a lighter duty engine, only 2.0l and has about 160 HP.

As for the Intake i haven't tried it myself, but people buy integra CAIs and slightly mod them to work with the MX-3.

anything else you wanna know, people are really open to respond to em. congrats on your beautiful '3!

your taillights are altezzas... it's a nickname based off of the JDM Toyota that came with that style of taillight... That car basically revolutionized the tailights you see on cars today... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_IS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (for more info)

if your taillights were stock they would just be all red with amber signals... altezzas make the mx-3 look more up to date
