I searched this and never did find an answer.

A friend of mine has a '96 mx-3 with a klze swap that is running bad because it had the wrong vaf in it. He got the kl36 and harness and we are not sure if that is all we are going to need to do the ecu and harness swap. Does anyone know for sure if the harness will mate to the other harnesses in the car where it has to or do we have to swap out all harnesses to get it to run right?

I know that there were some people on here that have the pin outs that show what pins are different, and maybe this would be a better option to do. Someone said that there are only 20 or 24 pins to change and the 4th harness just doesn't get plugged in. If anyone has that infor, could you please send it to me to look at also.

Thanks a lot.

Jeff

The best thing to do is swap the harnesses. Run the KL36 PCM with a JE50 VAF, and for more performance, replace the ''catted'' 1996 headers and downpipe for a 1992-95 headers/downpipe combination.

With that, you're in buisiness !

Another solution (especially if you have a curved neck ZE) is to find a KL47 2.5L KL Millenia USDM ECU (not supercharge) (1996-2002, OBD2) with the KL47 MAF & IAT (Not VAF) using your current harness.

But you need to modify the wiring for the airflow meter and IAT.

One way or another, you've got some job !

Good luck !
