Well in a way it was, he did not pay the full amount, his check bounced like a rubber ball.

Why would you take a check for your car? If he couldn't pay cash in hand, wouldn't that tell you that check is bad? You need to contact the police, and DMV. So if he sells it to anyone, when they go to register it, it will come up stolen, and they'll contact you.

You sure about that VIN number? First of all Blue was not a colour that Mazda used on the MX-3 in 1992. I will assume that the car was repainted?

Edit: Please disregard my colour code comment, I rechecked my source, and all is good except the colour being blue, unless of course it was repainted....
