HEI Mod Problem

Post by Craig LEE »

Hi from Australia and compliments of the season. Did the HEI mod on my Eunos without much success. Fitted a Bosch external coil as per the diagram. Car now runs for about five minutes then stops. Tacho goes to zero and both thermal fans come on. Switch ignition off and back on, car will restart for another five then same thing happens again. Why do the fans come on, ECU issue? Any assistance appreciated. I was very careful to follow the diagram. Cheers, Craig from OZ. :x

You're currently running the stock igniter, even if the connections are done to the HEI.

Maybe (for sure) the wiring harness is not the same on eunos's.

Recheck your diagram and try to get the wirings diagrams for your car and adapt it to ours.

As for your fans, they were ok before ? If so, recheck your wiring for the HEI igniter, you've probably shorted something and the ECU is in diagnosis mode.

Have success !
