H4 (9003) to 9004
H4 (9003) to 9004
Hi. I have the euro headlights with the H4 pattern. I purchased (cheap is the reason) two used US type headlights. So now I have to buy two new 9004 bulbs, two 9004 male connectors and make some splicing. I know the US wiring but I don't have the euro type. Does anybody have the euro wring diagram for the headlights? Or, better, has anybody performed the same procedure in the past?

Re: H4 (9003) to 9004
so when you say you have a six wire plug I am guessing you also have the leveling headlight motors installed. I recentlyl converted my 9004 wiring to H4 wiring + leveling motors and I had to separate the six wires into 2 sets of 3.

Re: H4 (9003) to 9004
Well the time has come to put the plastic headlights with the 9004 bulb pattern. As I have said, for the moment my mx has the h4 bulb pattern. I can stick a voltmeter and find out the use of each wire to the bulb easilly I guess. But I am still confused on how to wire the 9004 bulb. I have two different inputs:
a. Here is the bulb side http://www.candlepowerinc.com/pdfs/9004_9007.pdf
b. Here is the connector side http://www.mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php ... /Z-066.gif
These two mismatch. Does anyone know the high/low and ground connection to the 9004 bulb?

most auto parts stores sell a 9004 connectors... you can cut off the h4 connect are rewire a 9004 connector on... I'm sorry for the moment I do not know the hi/low wires...

In the US for sure but here in Europe definitely none! As for buying from the US I ve been quoted for some extremely high prices for postage costs. So I will use reaphooks. The only thing that confuses me is which signal goes to which contact of the 9004 bulb.Mooneggs wrote:most auto parts stores sell a 9004 connectors...

Its not that difficult to find out by trial and error - and bulbs are somewhat tolerant of wrong connections. Also i dont really see where the mismatch is in the schematics you posted above - can you elaborate?yiorta wrote:In the US for sure but here in Europe definitely none! Re: H4 (9003) to 9004
My friend shameem I really thank you for the picture. This is exactly the info I was looking for!
Regarding the mismatch: At the second link I provided (http://www.mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php ... /Z-066.gif" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) if you check left and down of the page, you see the connector to the 9004 bulb. It indicates that the ground is down right at the connector. The other link I provided (plus yours) indicate the ground to be down left.
